Frequently asked questions
What if my kids aren't cooperating?
Photoshoots can be quite overwhelming for children.
A stranger with a big camera can be confusing and when the parents feel anxious the kids pick up on the energy.
That is why we let kids be kids. Think about the shoot as a family fun day out. Play, engage and give them a little freedom to explore, be themselves and have fun.
We take breaks, have cuddles and snacks when needed and allow them to lead. Many kids ask if we can have another "playdate" soon, because they enjoy the hour of it being only about the family together, no phones, no homework, no distractions. We are all so busy, and this is when you are encouraged to slow down and just be and enjoy your family.
Uncomfortable in front of the camera?
Very few clients show up with experience of being photographed. It can feel intimidating, I am the same.
However, my goal is to put you at ease, for you to be so present and in the moment with your loved ones that you are almost not be aware of my presence.
Life isn't posed perfection, and your images won't be either. They will be vibrant, full of life and bring you back to feel the moments you shared with those who matter.
How many images will I receive?
It depends on the package you choose, however you will have the ability to view all the images before I do the final detailed edits to your favourites.
If you find your package is too limiting and you would like to select more, additional images can be selected at $250 each with refined edits applied to them as well.
Do you do retouching?
The short answer is no. The aim of the shoot is to capture you as authentically as you are, creating memories not striving for perfection.
However, if there is a distracting temporary element , such as some skin imperfections, I am happy to remove it, but I will not change your physical appearance. I believe you are perfect as you are!
I do basic global edits, adjusting white balance, colour grading, etc to all images presented to you. Depending on the package you choose you will also have the opportunity to select images to which I will apply more detailed edits for final delivery.
